Fiete Stolte
Sometime
18. Juli – 7. September 2008
A clock shows his time, an hour has 60 minutes, a day has 21 hours.
Driven by a personal lack of time, Fiete Stolte divided the week into 8 days and lived according to this time structure. The works in the exhibition document life from this other time, where absurd situations and conversations turn everyday life upside down and show us how subjective our order can be.
Stolte's "8 Day Week Trip", which takes him from Berlin via Hong Kong, Sydney, Honolulu, Los Angeles, New York and London back to Berlin in one week, proves that the assessment of time also depends on one's point of view. As a result, he manages to experience eight sunrises and sunsets in seven days.
Fiete Stolte was born in 1979 in Berlin, where he also lives and works. He graduated from the Berlin Weißensee School of Art under Karin Sander in 2007.
