Santiago Sierra
Deutschland 1990-2012

31. Mai – 20. Juli 2013

The Kunstverein Arnsberg will show all of the projects created in Germany by Spanish artist Santiago Sierra. It is the first thematic exhibition of this type. Sierra, who studied the early 90s in Hamburg, has implemented over 20 projects throughout Germany between 1990 and 2012.

With sculptures, videos, performances and photographs, he always manages to stimulate discussion. His decisions often act as fuel for public debates, taking social issues into another dimension. For Sierra, however, it is not the provocations but their consequences that are important. His response to political and economic violence are performances and actions that make them drastically visible.

Santiago Sierra (*1966) lives in Madrid.

A public talk with Santiago Sierra will take part on Tuesday, 16 July, 2013, at 7.30 pm at Kunstverein Arnsberg.
