Nicolai Angelov
6. Mai – 1. Januar 2012
A new artistic work by Berlin artist Nicolai Angelov has been created on the transformer house at Möhnepforte. His wall painting transforms the public garden near the city center into a meeting place and center that reflects the existing architecture and nature in equal measure.
In his site-specific work, Nicolai Angelov makes reference to the neighboring half-timbered house, whose black beams and white compartments can also be seen as dark lines on a white background. Angelov wraps the walls of the transformer house with green, diagonal lines, which are intersected and enclosed by a continuous central, horizontal line. Symmetry and tense geometric construction characterize the composition and constantly draw new constellations resulting from the perspective as we walk around the building. The composition thus creates a relationship to the surroundings and to the function of the transformer house with its electrical voltage.
